Patrick McVittie reflects on a time he decided to take a chance on a kayak to win a girl’s affection. This story is from our very first storytelling event in January 2012. The theme was “There’s a First Time for Everything.”

Patrick is a staff engineer at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory at UC Berkeley.
